Why I Want To Be A Teacher. . .0
Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am currently attending a summer program for students who are interested in becoming teachers. I have always wanted to teach and participate in a variety of programs in which I work to develop my teaching skills. For the past several years, I have volunteered weekly at a local subsidized housing development and have taught Hebrew at my synagogue’s religious school. During the school year, I am a teen supervisor of an afterschool program at a local elementary school. Through my work in these programs, I have learned a great deal about working with students at different ability levels and with different strengths. I love working with the students individually and in groups and getting to know them. It is so interesting to watch them learn and grow over a school year.
When I was younger, I always planned to become an elementary school teacher. Even so, as I’ve grown older, I have begun to consider secondary education. I hope to explore a variety of classroom settings and student age groups over the next few years in order to determine in what area of education I am most interested.
I believe that teaching is an important profession and is essential to the success of future generations. I hope to help students learn to enjoy learning and to inspire them to become successful individuals. As a teacher, I will have the ability to make a difference in the lives of my students.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and am very excited to be participating in a program in which I can further explore the field of education. I look forward to working with students at a local elementary school, learning more about the different theories of lesson planning and classroom management and forming many new friendships with the other ”future teachers” participating in the program!
